Robyn's Cone 6 Ox: Wright's Base Glaze Test: 1/2% Chrome Oxide, Spring 2011

Recipe:
Lithium Carbonate 3
Strontium Carbonate 9
Ferro Frit 3110 59
EPK Kaolin 12
Silica 17
+
Chrome Oxide 0.5

Evaluation:
Transparent chartreuse, glossy, crazing.

This is a nice bright colored glaze, evident over white slip or white clay bodies. Over raw stoneware, it loses some of its brilliance and looks more olive green. Pooling occurs in the depressed areas of texture. Stability could be worked on to decrease some of the crazing.
